Co-Founder and Managing Director.
Prior to establishing the Firm in April 1996, Mr. Mendel was a
Managing Director in the Private Equity Financing Group of
Prudential Securities, Inc. Previously,
he was a Managing Director of Richter & Co., Inc., an
investment and merchant banking boutique and a founding member
of the Private Equity Financing Group at Kidder, Peabody &
Co., Inc. In
1983, Mr. Mendel began his investment banking career in the
Corporate Finance Department of Drexel Burnham Lambert
Incorporated where he ultimately became a Partner.
He
has raised Private Equity capital for numerous private and
public emerging growth companies in the business services,
retail/consumer and manufacturing sectors. During his seven
years with Drexel Burnham, Mr. Mendel completed in excess of
60 transactions aggregating over $5 billion of capital.
He
graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University
in 1981 with a BA degree, and received his MBA from Harvard
Business School in 1983.
