Co-Founder
and Managing Director. Prior to
establishing the Firm in 1996, Mr. Shattan had founded and
built three highly successful Private Equity Financing efforts
over a 12 year period at Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Kidder,
Peabody & Co.; and Prudential Securities, Inc.
Mr. Shattan began his Investment Banking career with Goldman
Sachs where he worked from 1978 to 1989. As a Vice-President,
he established and ran its Private Equity effort from 1985 to
1989. He was a Managing Director and Group Head at Kidder,
Peabody from 1990 to 1992, and a Managing Director and Group
Head at Prudential Securities from 1992 until April 1996.
He graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 1972
with a BA degree, and received his MBA degree from Columbia
University's Graduate School of Business in 1978.
Prior to Columbia Business School, Mr. Shattan worked in the
International Department of the Chase Manhattan Bank, where he
ultimately became a second vice-president with responsibility
for East and Central Africa.
Mr. Shattan is widely recognized in the industry as a leading
expert in Private Equity financings, having raised Private
Equity for some of the fastest-growing companies in the
country over an 18 year period. He is a frequent speaker at
industry conferences, including the Inc. 500 Conference, the
Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), the Private Equity
Analyst PE Roundup and several Strategic Research Institute
conferences.
