To All: Effective December 31, 2003, further activities of The Shattan Group LLC (“TSG”) were discontinued. After seven fulfilling years as TSG and over 18 years helping companies obtain Private Equity capital, two Co-Founders and Managing Directors of the Firm, Thomas S. Shattan and Gregory E. Mendel, decided to focus on principal activities and wind down TSG’s traditional business of raising Private Equity capital as Agent. Accordingly, they established Shattan Mendel Enterprises LLC to pursue a broad range of principal opportunities—both establishing new businesses and purchasing operating companies. Shattan and Mendel succeeded in arranging over $1.5 billion in Private Equity and Equity-related capital from institutional and corporate sources in aggregate as a team. They propelled the growth of nearly 100 businesses, including some of the fastest-growing entrepreneurial companies in the country. Their relationships extend to over 2,200 Private Equity investors worldwide, as well as a broad network of service providers to middle market companies.
